The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation manages the retirement savings of a vast number of salaried individuals across the country. To keep members and employers informed about scheme changes, deadlines, and announcements, the organisation operates an official WhatsApp channel.

What the Channel Offers

The channel carries updates related to the Employees’ Provident Fund, the Employees’ Pension Scheme, and the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance scheme. Subscribers receive information on new announcements, cut-off dates, and key decisions taken by the organisation.

Beyond circulars, the channel also shares tutorials and awareness videos. These cover practical topics such as withdrawing funds from a PF account, continuing contributions after a job change, and details of government schemes. Information about public hearing sessions and assistance camps is also posted here.

This channel adds to the existing grievance redressal routes, which include the web-based EPFiGMS portal, the CPGRAMS platform, social media pages, and a 24×7 call centre.

What the Channel Cannot Do

It is important to understand the limits of this service. The WhatsApp channel is an information-sharing platform only. Members cannot withdraw PF, check their passbook balance, or submit a pension claim through it.

For any online service related to EPF, EPS, or EDLI, members should use the official EPFO portal or the UMANG app. Those who prefer offline assistance can visit their nearest regional EPFO office.

How to Follow the Channel

Joining is straightforward. Open WhatsApp, go to the Updates or Channels tab, search for the official EPFO channel, and tap Follow once the page opens. Following the channel reduces the need to visit EPFO offices for routine information.

Recent Update for Employers

In related news, the deadline for filing the Electronic Challan-cum-Return for September 2026 has been extended from October 15 to October 31, 2026. The extension was allowed in view of the additional time employers needed following the revision in the wage ceiling.
