The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Apprenticeship Training Division) has issued an order dated 22 April 2026 mandating email verification and validation measures on the Apprenticeship Portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in). The directive applies to all user roles, including candidates, establishments, third-party aggregators, and training providers. The measures take effect immediately and aim to enhance the security, authenticity, and reliability of user accounts across India.

Key Highlights of the Notification

  • Applicability:
    • All user roles on the Apprenticeship Portal, including new registrations and existing active users.
  • Mandatory Email Verification:
    • Portal access restricted until email ID is verified and activated.
  • Email Validation During Registration:
    • Disposable or temporary email domains blocked during registration.
    • Valid email IDs undergo OTP verification followed by activation link.
    • Activation link valid for 7 days; expired links require re-initiation.
  • Disposable/Temporary Email Detection:
    • System blocks login or registration attempts using such domains.
  • Re-Verification for Existing Users:
    • Users with disposable domains must update and re-verify email IDs.
    • Old email IDs blocked after update.
  • Sub-User Email Validation:
    • Invalid or bounced email IDs trigger SMS and portal notifications.
    • Administrators responsible for updating sub-user accounts with valid IDs.
  • Non-Compliance:
    • May result in restricted or suspended access to portal services.

Impact on Employers and Employees

  • For Employers/Establishments: The directive requires HR and compliance teams to ensure that all registered accounts, including sub-users, use valid and verified email IDs. Failure to comply may block access to apprenticeship-related services.
  • For Apprentices/Candidates: New registrants must provide valid email IDs to complete OTP verification and activation. Existing users with disposable domains must update their accounts to maintain uninterrupted access.
  • For Training Providers and TPAs: Compliance with the verification process is mandatory to continue operations on the Apprenticeship Portal.
